Welcome to Dos Perros Custom Handmade Furniture

I am a “one man” shop where I have been making custom handmade furniture for over 30 years. From design to delivery I am the one who will be doing the work. Although my passion is Spanish Colonial Style, I don’t limit myself to that style. I have also created pieces in Early American, Mid-Century, Monterey and Craftsman style along with custom designs. All my work are one of a kind pieces.

My other passion is cooking (and eating) and I have catered and taught cooking classes for years. Most recently a Dutch Oven Cooking class at the White Stallion Ranch in Tucson. Even if you’re not interested in my furniture you should check out some of my favorite recipes by clicking here or on Recipes is the banner at the top of the page.

Here’s an article about my work that appeared in Phoenix Home & Garden Cowboy Craftsman. Below is short video about my work from when I was selected as one of Phoenix Home and Garden Magazine’s 2009 “Masters of the Southwest”

I use solid wood construction with kiln dried lumber and mortise and tenon joinery. Traditionally, Spanish Colonial (New Mexican) furniture was made from indigenous wood which was Ponderosa Pine.I can easily create your furniture using a wood of your preference that matches your décor.

My finish process includes stain, sanding sealer, another top coat and a glaze to enhance the carving, then another coat of finish and finally a wax coat for that “hand rubbed” look.
